Uniting Experts. Nourishing Infants. Empowering Families.

Infant feeding can be an incredibly rewarding experience, but it can come with challenges that may leave families feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. Whether baby is breastfed, formula fed, tub fed, or a combination, families often encounter hurdles like latching difficulties, concerns about milk supply, dietary decisions, and cost. The emotional, physical, and financial demands of feeding an infant can create strain, making the experience feel isolating.
Integrated support from healthcare professionals, feeding specialists, peer groups, community resources, and assistance programs is essential.

The Infant Feeding Collaborative (IFC) aims to empower families in their infant feeding journey by fostering collaboration among professionals and organizations in the public and private sectors. We provide comprehensive support, education, and advocacy that nurtures infants' nutritional needs while fostering family wellness. Through shared knowledge and a strong community network, we strive to create an environment where every family feels confident and supported in their feeding choices.

Who We Are

Managed by the nonprofit Beverly’s PGH, the Infant Feeding Collaborative was founded in 2025 as a group of passionate professionals from the private and public sector with a vested interest in infant feeding/maternal health and wellness.

The Infant Feeding Collaborative aims to bridge the gaps in navigating infant feeding by providing evidence-based information, resources, and support for families.

A special thank you to First Steps and Beyond for their funding support to launch this inititaive.

If you are a professional/organization/company serving families in Southwestern PA and have a vested interest in infant feeding/maternal health and wellness, we want to hear from you!

The IFC is newly formed, and we are working collectively to shape its direction.  Beginning in June 2025, we will convene on a bi-monthly basis (virtual) to formulate strategy, engage in resource connection/sharing, and discuss how we can better serve families in our region. Our next virtual meeting will be held in August 2025.
